Design Love: Volume V

A new season has sprung, with plenty of exciting design news to go around. Here’s what is on our radar.

Product Collaboration: Helen Bergin x Abner Henry

Midwestern pragmatism meets Palm Beach whimsy as these two design houses merge their respective styles, resulting in an 18-piece interiors collection brimming with timeless quality, meticulous detail, and creative approach. Ideal for residences or hospitality projects, the collaboration is the latest in the Abner Henry Design Collective program, which infuses bespoke modern talent with craftsmanship and high-quality materials. For a case in point, this bold blue washed wooden bed is refreshing, and at once practical and unexpected. Browse the full collection here.

Event: ALCOVA Milano Returns

This season, Alcova returns with a new spatial configuration hosting over 120 exhibitors between Villa Pestarini and the vast complex of the Baggio Military Hospital at the center of its itinerant design showcase. Notably, Villa Pestarini (designed by Franco Albini) is a long-private residence that will welcome the public for the first time. Expect a jam-packed, gorgeous offering of installations and curated moments by Haworth, Cassina, Patricia Urquiola, Luisa Castiglioni, Kiki Goti, and more. April 20-26. Tickets.

Installation: Hervé Baley Éditions at Magen H Gallery

The exhibition, which runs for approximately a month in New York, introduces a rare and considered continuation of the French architect and designer's work, which exists at the intersection of architecture, furniture, and sculpture. The Éditions prominently showcase this legacy with precision, offering gallery visitors a glimpse into Baley’s process as a spatial experience. April 26th-May 24th.

Installation: From the Heart to the Hands by Dolce&Gabbana

We’ve long requested global arts and culture brands bring exhibits to Miami outside of Art Basel season, so the launch of Dolce&Gabbana’s retrospective in Miami’s Design District is a welcome cultural layer to the city’s evolving list of things to do. The exhibit, housed within ICA Miami, explores the brand’s unconventional approach to the world of luxury, with thematic rooms built out to explore the brands eras. Art, architecture, music, and fashion collide in this multi-room experience. Running through June 14. Tickets.
